What is Geocaching?
Geocaching is an
entertaining adventurous game for GPS users.
Participating in a cache hunt is a good way to take advantage of the wonderful
features and capability of a GPS unit. The basic idea is to have individuals and
organizations set up caches all over the world and share the locations of these
caches on the internet at www.geocaching.com. GPS users can then use the
location coordinates to find the caches. Once found, a cache may provide the
cacher with a wide variety of rewards. All the cacher is asked to do is sign the
log and exchange an item. If you take something from the cache try to leave
something for the cache. Geocaching is a loosely organized group of individuals
and families who have a common desire to participate in the sport of Geocaching,
and to see it grow and prosper. Our members come from all walks of life.

CODE
OF CONDUCT SUGGESTIONS:
As this
activity grows we need to protect Geocaching by protecting the environment so we
don't become overwhelmed by policy, or even banned by those who don't appreciate
caching. Some common sense suggestions from the Geocachers forum are the
following:
- Always get
permission from the property owner or caretaker before placing a cache.
- Don't
dig on public property. Place cache with minimal environmental impact.
- Under no
circumstances park or walk on private property without permission.
- Stay on
established trails as much as possible
- Leave a
cache site better than you found it.
